Currently in her junior year at Boston University in Massachusetts, Alana Barlia stands out as service learning chair of the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority. She comes to this role backed by experience in a variety of professional settings, and she is adept at communicating with both colleagues and the public. Alana Barlia entered the workforce as a waitress, lifeguard assistant, and counselor in training at Camp Schodack in Nassau, New York, where she gained valuable experience working with children and collaborating with fellow employees.
Alana Barlia most recently served as a summer intern with Dynamic Kids, a pediatric occupational therapy center. Responsible for back-office operations, she also observed a number of therapy sessions and learned about providing therapeutic care to children. She continues to apply this caring mindset in her leadership of Alpha Epsilon Phi’s community outreach activities, many of which she has personally organized and directed. Ms. Barlia enjoys placing her sorority sisters and herself in positions where they can be of assistance to fellow students and to those in need throughout the community.
